Good information on the coastal town and now I do not think I want to live on the coast. I will stick with Cuenca where I have visited and feel very safe. The coastal towns seem run down with the exception of the ocean front condos and shopping may make it hard to get what you need. I am not as frugal as Frank and Angie so I need more conveniences and Cuenca provides them plus a beautiful old town and history. -- James Miller
